    Diego B. Anderson

    Chief Executive Officer

    Diego Anderson serves as our Chief Executive Officer for Lumos and NorthState. He has over 25 years of leadership experience in various operational and executive business management roles within Sprint, NTELOS, and Segra. Originally from South Carolina, Diego earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering Technology from South Carolina State, a Masters in Administration from Central Michigan University, and a Masters in the Management of Information Technology from the University of Virginia, McIntire School of Commerce. Diego also serves as a board member for Blue Ridge Area Food Bank and Botanical Garden of the Piedmont.

    David Smith

    Chief Network Officer

    David Smith is Chief Network Officer for Lumos and NorthState, leading operations, engineering, outside plant, facilities, supply chain, safety, and product development teams. He has over 15 years of experience in information technology and telecommunications and has held numerous business management leadership roles, including Booz Allen consulting. David holds a B.S. in Information Systems Management from Bridgewater College and an MBA from Averett University.

    Mary McDermott

    General Counsel

    Mary McDermott serves as General Counsel for Lumos and NorthState, managing all legal and regulatory affairs of the company. Previously, she served as General Counsel and Secretary at Segra and as Senior Vice President of Legal and Regulatory Affairs at NTELOS. Prior positions include Senior Vice President and General Counsel at Pathnet Telecommunications, Senior Vice President and Chief of Staff for Government Relations for the Personal Communications Industry Association, and Vice President of Legal and Regulatory Affairs for the U.S. Telecom Association. Additionally, she worked in the legal departments of New England Telephone and NYNEX. Mary holds a B.A. in Political Science from West Virginia University and a J.D. from Harvard Law School.

    Chief Customer Officer

    Jay Winn is Chief Customer Officer for Lumos and NorthState, leading the company’s brand, customer experience, marketing, customer care, and sales channels. He has worked for many respected brands, including leadership roles at well-known agencies such as Ogilvy. Jay has a proven record of driving growth and transformation for technology companies, including Verizon, CenturyLink, Windstream, Comcast and the successful launches of the CenturyLink and Comcast Business brands. He earned the Gold Effie for marketing effectiveness as well as a Cannes Lion nomination for creativity. Jay received BBA and MBA degrees from Abilene Christian University.

    Scott Roy

    Chief Human Resources Officer

    Scott Roy is Chief Human Resources Officer for Lumos and NorthState, leading the company’s employee engagement and organizational culture initiatives. With extensive experience in executive human resources leadership roles both domestically and globally, Scott has been in human resources leadership roles for various manufacturing entities such as Caparo Bull Moose, SPX, Faurecia Automotive, and Doosan Construction Equipment Co., ranging from multi-million to multi-billion dollars in revenue. He received a BA degree from Bowdoin College as well as Mind Spring in Asheville, NC, and finance for non-financial managers at Insead in Paris.

    Chief Information Officer

    Tom Fabbricatore is Chief Information Officer for Lumos and NorthState, leading the company’s digital strategy, cybersecurity, and IT transformational enablement activities. With more than 25 years’ executive management experience in the industry, Tom previously served as Chief Information Officer at Airwavz Solutions and, earlier in his career, was Chief Information Officer for Deltacom, US LEC and CTC Communications. He received a BSBA degree from the University of Florida and attended Northeastern University’s data communications program in Boston, MA.

    Shane Ward

    Chief Financial Officer

    Shane Ward is Chief Financial Officer for Lumos and NorthState, leading all financial strategy, forecasting, analysis, accounting, and controls. With more than 24 years of diverse accounting and finance experience, he previously served as Chief Financial Officer for CTI Towers. During his tenure at CTI Towers, Shane navigated the company through sustained growth with $70 million in mergers and acquisitions transactions involving Vyve, Mediacom, and Cable One, expanding from an initial four towers to more than 1,100. Prior to CTI, he was the Director of Corporate Accounting for American Tower Corporation. Shane is a Chartered Accountant CA(SA) and a graduate of the University of South Africa.
